The chord keyset mappings at
http://chm.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?NlsTechnical/KeysetMap doesn't
show how the additional mouse button combinations were used. For
example 111 produced a set of distinct uppercase viewspecs, (02)
It's kind of interesting that Doug's scheme didn't use matching
uppercase/lowercase viewspec pairs for opposites/toggles. There are
quite a few of these paird viewspecs. I recall that this was a
fairly common convention at the time. So, for example, 'a' is"show
one level less", so you'd think 'A' would be "show one level
more". This scheme would break down, of course, for the few
viewspecs that are not paired, such as 'f': "recreate display" (03)
We should ask Doug about the rationale for mapping viewspec
letters. It might indicate an organic evolution of the viewspec
commands that made it more difficult to allocate viewspec pairs in this way. (04)
